The Land of Silk and Spices

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

India, a spectacular land of silks and spices; stretches from the snowy peaks of the ancient Himalayas to Cape Comorin jutting into the sea.  Hinduism is the major religion, with a much smaller percentage made up of Muslims and Christians.  Nearly 265 million people live on less than $1.90 per day, left powerless in poverty.  Nearly one in four Indians cannot read or write, hindering day-to-day activities.  When they face life’s greatest challenges, millions of Indians are left hopeless and in desperate need of the Savior.  More than those in any other nation, the helpless poor of India stand in need of the hope and life that Christ offers.

The Indian subcontinent is the second most populated country on earth with over 1.3 billion souls India is home to over 15% of the world’s people—more than all of North and South America together—and crowded into 1/3 of the area of the US.  Almost 50,000 new babies are being born every day, making India the fastest-growing country in the world.  There are over 1600 language groups, many of whom do not have a Bible and over 2000 unreached people groups still need to know Christ

Nothing can fully prepare you for India, but perhaps the one thing that best summarizes this extraordinary country is its ability to inspire, frustrate, thrill and confuse all at once.

The Christian church in India is finding creative ways to meet the physical and spiritual needs of its people.  Our desire is to glorify God by partnering with the existing church in India as they seek to fulfill Christ’s commission by evangelizing the unreached, discipling new believers, and minister to human needs.

Our vision is to see India transformed by the love of Christ.

You can help us get there. Why India?  Because God loves this nation.  And He has called us to bring His light to spiritually dark places.  Though 400 million people in India have never heard the name of Jesus, hearts are open to the Good News like never before!

You can join us in the journey of spreading the hope of Jesus Christ by Donating HERE.
